Egg prices are rising by leaps and bounds! Will the price go up further? Which the traders said

The price of eggs is skyrocketing in the wholesale market of Sealdah.

The price of eggs increased again. Eggs were sold at record prices in the Sealdah wholesale market on Thursday. Egg prices rose in late August but fell slightly in the first week of September. Egg prices have risen again this week.

The price of eggs is skyrocketing in the wholesale market of Sealdah. In the wholesale market, the price of an egg per piece is five and a half to six rupees. The price of one cartoon egg in the Sealdah egg strip is 1130 rupees. One carton or a box contains seven trays.

Each tray contains 30 eggs. There are 210 eggs in a box or cartoon. Another tray contains 30 eggs. The price of a tray of eggs has gradually increased from 120 to 180/165. When this is the case in the wholesale market, eggs are being sold at Taka 8 in the retail market. If the price increases in the wholesale market, the price of eggs in the retail market will exceed Taka.

Behala housewife Anjana Dafadar said, starting from breakfast in the morning to dinner. You can't go without eggs. If the price of eggs goes up, the daily expenses will exceed the budget.

In the retail market, the price of an egg has gone up from Taka 5.5 to Taka 6. Retailers who have visited Sealdah Egg Patti say that the profit has already gone down. Dividends will be further reduced. If you sell for more than 7 rupees, no one will buy it. So you have to trade eggs for a small profit.

West Bengal needs about two and a half crore eggs every day. Of this, the production capacity of West Bengal is 60 lakhs. After Amfan, the amount of that production has further decreased. So for eggs, West Bengal has to depend on Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. Rising diesel prices have increased transportation costs. Therefore, the traders of the Sealdah egg strip do not see any possibility of reducing the price of eggs in the coming days.

Madan Mohan Maiti, head of the Poultry Traders' Association, said the current wholesale price above Rs 5 in India is good for poultry farming.

Kajal Dutt, general secretary of The Calcutta Merchant Association, said dividends to retailers were declining. Kajalbabu does not see any hope of reducing the price of eggs before Pujo. On the contrary, he said in a tone of fear, given the situation in the country, Andhra Pradesh-Telangana, the price of eggs will increase in the coming days. Transportation costs are rising as diesel prices rise. This is affecting the egg market.
