Riya's grandfather Shirish Chakraborty also used to live in a village house. Later he moved to Dhanbad in Jharkhand for work. Riya's father and uncle were born in Dhanbad.

However, Durgopujo is still performed every year at the initiative of some members of the Chakravarti family and the villagers. According to local sources, Durgapujo in the rear house is about 323 years old.
