Xiaomi Teases Launch of Redmi Smart TV in India on St Patrick's Day 


Redmi introduced its first TV in China, the Redmi Smart TV 98-inch last year. Recently, Xiaomi brought the Redmi Max 86-inch Ultra HD TV that was launched alongside the Redmi K40-series smartphones in China.


Redmi is teasing the launch of a replacement device on St Patrick's Day in India. the corporate shared the event across its social media handles with the hashtag “XL Experience.” The caption and promotional poster clearly indicates that the Xiaomi sub-brand is getting to launch its first Smart TV in India. Currently, Xiaomi sells smart TVs in India under the Mi brand. The Redmi Smart TV was first teased during the Redmi Note 10 series launch event last week.


During the launch event last week, Xiaomi India director Manu Kumar Jain had stated that the corporate would unveil something “bigger” within the country after expanding its portfolio with power banks, audio accessories, and wearables. “We [Redmi] began our phone-plus strategy, and that we launched many new product categories like power banks, TWS, and therefore the fitness band. And this year, in 2021, we are proud to introduce something bigger,” Jain noted.

Recently, Xiaomi brought the Redmi Max 86-inch Ultra HD TV that was launched alongside the Redmi K40-series smartphones in China. Xiaomi and Redmi smart TVs compete directly against Vivo, Realme, and Oppo smart TVs in China – the three brands under the conglomerate BBK Electronics. In India, apart from Vivo, both Oppo and Realme sell select TV models. All the brands also compete against global brands like Vu, TCL, Samsung, Onida, and more.


The new Redmi Smart TVs will continue sale for the primary time on 26 March at 12 PM


Xiaomi has launched the new Redmi smart TV line-up in India. The new Redmi Smart TV comes in three sizes including the most important TV with a 65-inch screen followed by a 55-inch screen and therefore the smallest on offer may be a 50-inch screen.


Redmi Smart TV X65 is priced at ₹57,999


Redmi Smart TV X55 is priced at ₹38,999


Redmi Smart TV X50 is priced at ₹32,999


The new Redmi Smart TVs will continue sale for the primary time on 26 March at 12 PM. The TV will continue sale at mi.com, Amazon.in, Min Home and Mi Studio. ICICI credit cardholders also can avail a moment discount of ₹2,000 on 26 March.


The TVs get 4K HDR, Vivid Picture Engine, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, and 30W Dolby Audio speaker. In terms of software, the new TVs are powered by Xiaomi's own Patchwall which is made over Android TV 10.


In order to accommodate the new generation gaming consoles, the TVs also get HDMI 2.1 ports. Other connectivity options include Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Bluetooth 5.0 and Dual Band WiFi. The ports also include USB 2.0 port, optical out, AV input, network port and auxiliary port.


The new X series is powered by a quad-core A55 chipset which is assisted by Mali G52 MP2. The TVs get 16GB of internal storage and 2GB RAM.


The Xiaomi TV comes with support for the Mi Home application which can act as a hub to regulate Xiaomi's smart device ecosystem.
